Nationals 2013, another fantastic event!

The nationals this year raised the standard of events another notch. Thanks to everyone who competed and volunteered for making it a great event. New Zealand you did yourselves proud!

Nationals Wrap Video

Another great wrap video created by Studio 274 and some of the event photos.

The 2013 Nationals results can be found from the Results & Awards section!

The 2013 KiwiChallenge is 'Ramp it Up!'

ISO

  • Drawings for making your own Ramp Goal out of 6mm MDF are available in DIY_Goal.pdf for the Kiwibots web site. The Ramp is made out of 3mm MDF.
  • Adobe Illustrator files for laser cutting the formal goals from 3mm MDF are available as Goal_A.ai and Goal_B.ai you will need to cut 4xGoal_A's and 2xGoal_B's to make 4 goals.
  • These videos will help you to assemble the parts under the ramp and to assemble the box.

This game is designed to be fast and playable by all teams that have Robots as it is limited to what comes in a classroom kit. We want you to go out, have fun with simple robots and recrute new team members.

The rules for Ramp it Up!' Version 4 can be found here

Rule clarifications

  • The intention is only the same type and number of parts that are in a classroom kit are used.
  • 5 motors OR (4 motors and one servo) may be used.
  • 2 or 3 wire motors will be fine.

We have added #32 rubber bands and omni wheels as a legal competition elements! You can buy the rubber bands at most stationery shops for very little.

We want you to design robots and practice, even holding small scrimmages in your area so you can prepare for Kiwi Challenge regionals.
